The much-anticipated Rajinikanth's 169th movie 'Jailer' begins its shooting on August and the film is garnering eyes of fans lately by introducing the film cast. After confirming the roles of Telugu star Sunil, and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's cameo, the film banner officially confirmed the film's female lead. The movie, which is being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar who lastly helmed vijay starrer Beast.
Sun Pictures which is backing the film took to Twitter on Thursday evening officially confirmed by sharing a picture of the actress from the fim set. They wrote, ". @tamannaahspeaks from the sets of #Jailer". Taking to Instagram Tamannaah also shared the news that she is part of the Jailer team, "Finally I can share this with you all… the news is out!!!I am soo sooo happy and honoured to be a part of this movie #Jailer with the one and only Thalaivar @rajinikanth sir directed by @nelsondilipkumar Can’t wait to share this experience with all of you…", she penned.
The highly anticipated plot of the film involves an inmate gang trying to free their leader from prison, only to have the jailer put on quite the show in order to prevent their escape. The name Muthuvel Pandiyan was revealed a few weeks ago as the identity of Superstar. This new film will be set in the same genre as the director's past projects in dark comedy action, which is intruiging considering the star's fitting in this kind.
Reportedly, half of the shooting has been wrapped up. As opposed to Nelson's previous films, Jailer is rumoured to feature more action sequences. According to murmurings, Sandalwood actor Shivarajkumar will play the villain in Jailer. Reportedly, the makers have been in talks with a reputable Bollywood actor about making a cameo appearance in the film. The legendary Amitabh Bachchan is presumably in talks to play the role in Rajinikanth's upcoming film Jailer.
Bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner of Sun Pictures, Jailer has Rajinikanth in the lead role while Ramya Krishnan, Priyanka Mohan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan play crucial supporting roles. Anirudh is composing the music and the actioner is being made at a budget of Rs 100 crore. Rajinikanth was lastly seen in Annathae, and he has his next with her daughter and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam, where his future projects with Pradeep Ranganathan and TJ Gnanavel is yet to be confirmed.
