Finally, Meera Mithun is arrested by TN Police: How her challenge failed and what's next?

Controversial actor Meera Mithun has on Saturday got arrested by the Tamil Nadu police in Kerala, where she was in a safe haven, to evade the arrest after she was booked by the police under the grounds of making derogatory remarks against the people of scheduled caste. Meera Mithun is one of the notorious faces in Tamil Nadu and with the tag of popularity that she got through taking part in the Bigg Boss Tamil, she has been instigating furore and has got into the spotlight through controversies.

Recently, her remarks against the people of scheduled caste that she made on social media stirred outrage across the state. She went on to say that the artists in the Tamil film industry who are from the scheduled caste must also be removed from the industry.  Her speech had gone viral with the demand to take action against her. VCK leader Vanniarasu had moved his complaint against Meera Mithun urging the police to book the actor under sections of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Based on the complaint, the Central Crime Branch of the Chennai Police had registered a case against Meera Mithun under seven sections, including inciting the communal riots between two groups. After knowing that a case was registered against her, Meera Mithun has absconded and the police team had issued summon to her to appear for investigation. However, she was at large and was releasing videos on social media against the police.

In one of her videos, Meera Mithun said, "You can arrest me. Hasn't Gandhi and Nehru go to jail at all? You can't arrest me and it will happen only in the dream. I haven't insulted all the people who belong to the scheduled caste. I made such remarks against those who had disturbed me." It has become her open challenge to the police to arrest her. After her atrocities had gone high, the police had intensified the search to nab and they received the tipoff that the controversial actress is hiding in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Based on the tipoff, the police had rushed to the neighbouring state and traced her locality.

After the incessant search, the Tamil Nadu police had finally arrested her on Saturday from Kerala. Following the arrest, the police are now making arrangements to bring her to Chennai for further investigations. It has been reported that she was staying at a hotel and there were shocking events during her arrest saga. According to reports, when the police officials had tried to arrest her, Meera Mithun had started screaming and begun to videography the event and threatened that she will stab her to death if the police touch her.

There was a dispute between Meera Mithun and the police officials and the actor had recorded the event and she also had published it on her Youtube channel. In the video, she can be heard pleading with Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister MK Stalin to save her. She said that these male police officers are torturing me. She then asks the Chief Minister whether these things have to happen to a woman. She argued with the police that she can't give her phone and said to take her from the room after killing her.

Again calling the names of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, the actor say that the Tamil Nadu police are torturing her. Amid the dispute, the police had managed to arrest her, days after her challenge to arrest her. As the next process, the reports say that through the arrest, the actor's game may have come to an end as the police will be bringing her to Chennai and she will be lodged in jail under judicial custody. As the case has been booked against her under sections of the SC/ST Prevention of atrocities act, it's less likely that she can acquire the bail comfortably.
