The makers of the eagerly anticipated Indian epic historical fiction film have set a date to reveal the lengthy glimpse inside Chola lands through the film trailer. The previously released teaser had already sufficiently stoked the Chola fire for the fans, as the shared update featured poster had brilliantly depicted the Chola kingdom.

On Tuesday evening, the film's producers finally shared on social media the trailer and audio release date, and fans are firing up with comments. Ponniyin Selvan is arguably one of this year's most eagerly anticipated pan-Indian films, scoring in line with Bahubali and KGF.  It was previously reported that Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, and M K Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, would regale the audio and trailer launch event ceremony at Nehru Indoor Stadium.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, one of the makers Lyca Productions wrote, "The Grand audio and trailer launch of #PS1 - September 6th at the Nehru indoor stadium. In theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada!." Madras Talkies, the co-producer, had also shared the update and shared the poster with the etched text of "The Cholas are coming."

The excitement shown by the fans on seeing the teaser of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan is palpable. It has brought an ensemble cast with Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Karthi, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Jayaram, Parthipen, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bacchan, and Nizhalgal Ravi play crucial roles. Legendary musician A R Rahman has composed the music and two singles - Ponni Nadhi and Chola Chola have already been released and garnered a huge reception.

Cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman while editing is done by Sreekar Prasad. Ponniyin Selvan is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name. It is distributed by Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu and it has been reported that the movie has been made on the budget of Rs 500 crore.
