Finally, YouTuber 'Toxic' Madan is arrested by TN Police!

Tamil Nadu police have finally arrested YouTuber 'Toxic' Madan, who has been accused of using obscene and abusive language against women in his videos. Madan has gone absconding since the allegations had come to light and the police had launched the manhunt to nab the Youtuber, who reportedly traded humanity to earn more money and subscribers.

According to reports, the police had arrested Madan in the morning hours of Friday in Dharmapuri, where the YouTuber had found a haven to evade the arrest. Madan's Youtube channel 'Toxic Madan' has over 777k subscribers and the channel featured the videos of Madan playing PUBG while giving demeaning, degrading, and offensive commentary on women and sex in the backdrop. He would play the game and degrade women as if he degrades a gaming character. With such commentaries, he posted the videos which on one hand increased subscribers, and on the other hand, it increased the fact that he is really toxic.

Around 160 complaints were filed against Madan and his channel through online and based on a pile of complaints, the Tamil Nadu police had begun the search to arrest Madan but soon after knowing that he is under watch, he has absconded and has been at large. The revelation has immensely disturbed the communities over his awful fashion of making money and what more shocking is that his wife is part of this money-making drive.

On Wednesday, the Central Crime Branch of Tamil Nadu had formed a special team to search and apprehend Madan. The police had then arrested Madan's wife 25-year-old Kruthika. The officials have seized a laptop, a tablet, and a phone that the notorious couple based in Salem used to record their videos. The police say that Kruthika had supported and ran the objectionable channel with Madan. The female voice in obscene audio chats found in many of his videos belonged to Kruthika. Madan's wife was arrested on Wednesday and taken into judicial custody to investigate her husband's whereabouts. The police further say that the couple had decided to start a Youtube channel to make easy money.

With the view of garnering attention and gain thousands of subscribers in a short time, the couple had traded humanity and chose to use obscene and abusive content for their videos. Despite playing the game that was banned by India, Madan went on to body shame the women and assassinate their characters and his act was supported by his wife. When these incidents came to light, the state has completely surprised at how he earned lakhs of subscribers by purposefully degrading women.

According to police, Kruthika, who was sent to judicial custody till June 30, has confessed that she and Madan had started the channel and earned more money and subscribers. It has been reported that the couple had earned Rs 10 lakh per month from YouTube. The officials are also investigating Madan's investments and how he had earned luxury cars and bungalows. The police had also detained Madan's father and brother for investigation.

While the Cybercrime wing had lodged an FIR against Madan and his wife under five sections of IPC, the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also received complaints against the Youtube channel. While addressing the reporters on Thursday, Chennai police commissioner Shankar Jiwal said that the police are staunchly searching Madan who has been absconded.

After incessant manhunt, the police had on Friday arrested Madan, who was hiding in the Dharmapuri district. The reports say that the police had traced him based on the statement from his wife and family members and it was also speculated that Madan will surrender himself to the police after his wife has got arrested. During the investigation, it had come to light that the couple had started three YouTube channels and Kruthika has been acting as an admin for all three channels. The officials are taking steps to bring Madan to Chennai and the reports say that after being caught, Madan had begged the police and admitted what he has done as a crime.
