For the first time, TTV Dhinakaran is all set to join hands with this party for TN Polls!

For the first time in his party's history, Asaduddin Owaisi is all set to enter Tamil Nadu politics and to contest in the upcoming assembly polls as TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) has sealed a deal with Owaisi to welcome the MP of Hyderabad to the Tamil Nadu politics.

According to reports, AMMK has made a pact with Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which has become a crucial development. On Monday, AMMK chief Dhinakaran had issued a press release in which he said that the party has joined hands with Owaisi and will be contesting from three constituencies.

Dhinakaran stated that AMMK had allotted three constituencies - Vaniyambadi, Krishnagiri, and Sankarapuram to Oswaisi's AIMIM. According to reports, being one of the crucial assembly polls, Tamil Nadu will be witnessing four to five fronts - ADMK and its alliance, DMK and its alliance, Kamal Haasan- Sarathkumar, AMMK- AIMIM, and Naam Tamilar Katchi.

Dhinakaran had started AMMK to rival ADMK and he has been building an alliance to enhance his party with the banners of Jayalalithaa and VK Sasikala and to defeat ADMK. With Sasikala's sudden decision of staying off from politics, Dhinakaran was pushed to form an alliance that will display significance in the polls. Owaisi was surfaced with strong speculations that he will enter Tamil Nadu politics.

However, there were no assertions from Owaisi in the past about alliance in Tamil Nadu and he has now confirmed that he has joined hands with Dhinakaran and will be contesting in three constituencies. Earlier, the Tamil Nadu unit of AIMIM had submitted its list to Owaisi by mentioning the constituencies to contest in the state. According to reports, the party was hopeful to contest in 20 seats in Tamil Nadu and two seats from Puducherry.

However, the party has eventually got three constituencies in Tamil Nadu after inking a deal with Dhinakaran. According to a news agency, Owaisi was mulling to join the DMK alliance but the Muslim parties in the DMK alliance were against joining Owaisi following which he had decided to join Dhinakaran's alliance. It has been expected that Owaisi will start the campaign soon in Tamil Nadu in support of his candidates and alliance.

Tamil Nadu will go for the single-phase assembly poll on April 6 and the votes will be counted on May 2, during which the results will be announced. It has been expected that ADMK and DMK parties would be releasing the election manifestos on March 10. Along with Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry will also go to single-phase polls on April 6. According to the latest reports, Dhinakaran and Owaisi will be addressing a public meeting on March 12 in Chennai.
