With the movie Saamaniyan, veteran actor Ramarajan, who is well-liked by devoted Tamil cinema fans, will mark a comeback to the big screen for the first time in ten years. The first look poster of Saamaniyan was released on Sunday while the movie crew had held a gathering on Monday for the teaser launch.

While Ramarajan plays the lead role, veteran actors Radharavi and MS Bhaskar play important roles and Naksha Saran will feature as a female lead. Speaking at the event, the movie's director Rahesh said, "There are three leads in Saamaniyan. Ramarajan plays the part of one. M. S. Bhaskar and Radha Ravi play the other two roles. The movie is about a question that we all encounter on a regular basis. We do not, however, choose to respond."

"Only when it affects us directly do we become enraged by it. Such a subject will be covered in this movie" he added. In the movie, none of the three male leads plays a character who is looking to live a life free from illness, debt, or hostility. He also said that the actor will not be paired with a heroine.

Speaking at the teaser launch event, actor Ramarajan said, "I wanted to appear on the big screens only as the hero. More than proclaiming myself as a hero, I would state that story and screenplay are the real heroes of this movie. I came across many scripts during these years, but didn’t find them suitable for me. I was also clear that I shouldn’t be a part of movies that have bad values, as I am a hardcore follower of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR. That’s the reason behind my refraining from smoking and drinking."

"In 45 years, I've appeared in 45 films as an actor. I've always had a clean-shaven appearance, so this is the first time you'd see me with a beard. I was shocked by the interval block as the director read the script aloud. I can say with certainty that it will be a first for Tamil cinema as an intermission", he added.

He mentioned the Karagaatakaran sequel by saying, "The second film in the series should also have a unique title. When the first child is born, someone foretells and studies it all day, naming it Kannan, but does anyone name the second child Kannan-2? A few people even asked me if I could take Karakatakkaran 2, but I just ignored them. I declined the offer to play a part in Kodeeswaran-2 when asked by director Vijay Milton." The music of the Samaniyan film will be composed by Achu Rajamani, the editing will be done by Ram Gopi, and the celebrated cinematographer Ravi Varman will be writing the lyrics for the first time.
