Five explosions, massive fire mishap, and a major evacuation: A look into a big tragedy in Gujarat!

On Thursday, Gujarat has endured what has become a big tragedy that put the affected people in distress and disturbed thousands of people across the state. An unprecedented fire mishap that was caused after back to back explosions in Gujarat has become the talk of the nation with hundreds of people living in the vicinity were evacuated to safe places. 

Deepak Nitrite Company in Nandesari on the outskirts of Vadodara had witnessed an explosion that flared by the fire on June 2- Thursday. Deepak Nitrite Company has been a leading Indian chemical industry since 1972 and it has reported five major chemical blasts followed by fire. District Collector RB Barad has said that the cause of the mishap was not known. 

He had inspected the site after the incident and said, "Efforts are on to douse the massive fire, in which no injury has been reported. Seven workers who had inhaled the smoke were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. As a precaution, nearly 700 people living in the rural areas adjoining the factory have been shifted to safer places." 

Several videos had emerged of the fire accident in which the noise of blasts could be heard. A billow of smoke, sparked by a massive fire, had occupied the sky. A Vadodara fire brigade official has said a powerful explosion occurred when the fire started spreading in the factory during the evening. Ten firefighters were deployed to the spot to extinguish the fire. 

ANI has shared the visuals and they have been going viral on social media. Deepak Nitrite Company has issued a statement in which it has said that it has been monitoring the situation closely and the safety of employees and people in the vicinity was of foremost priority. As the sequel to the accident, the company has witnessed a decline in its share price on Thursday.
