"The forces meet"... ‘Project K’ is making history at the San Diego Comic-Con with Prabhas, Kamal Haasan

The Indian film industry is all set to make a splash at the San Diego Comic-Con with the first glimpse of ‘Project K’, a mega-budget sci-fi drama by Vyjayanthi Movies. The film, which boasts of a stellar cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, is helmed by the acclaimed director Nag Ashwin. The film, which is reportedly made on a whopping budget of ₹600 crore (US$75 million), is one of the most anticipated films of 2024.

The makers of ‘Project K’ have planned a grand launch of the first glimpse of the film at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 22, 2023. The event will mark another milestone in the Indian film industry’s history as it will be the first time that an Indian film will be showcased at the prestigious international platform. The event will also reveal the official title of ‘Project K’, which has been kept under wraps so far.

Ahead of the launch, the star cast of ‘Project K’ has arrived in the US and has been spotted together at various places. A picture of Prabhas, and Rana Daggubati enjoying an evening together at a restaurant in LA has gone viral on social media. The duo looked dapper and happy as they posed for the camera. Rana Daggubati, who is not part of ‘Project K’, is said to be accompanying his Baahubali co-star Prabhas as a friend and a well-wisher.

Another picture of Kamal Haasan and Prabhas posing together at the venue of Comic-Con has also created a stir among the fans. The makers shared the picture on their official Twitter handle and wrote, “The forces meet @ikamalhaasan , #Prabhas. Wish you were with us today at San Diego, @SrBachchan sir. Can’t wait to see the magnificent frame of all our stalwarts”. Kamal Haasan, who is playing a pivotal role in ‘Project K’, looked stylish in a black suit.

Apart from the pictures, the makers have also unveiled a comic strip of ‘Project K’ at the Comic-Con, which gives a sneak peek into the film’s storyline. The comic strip depicts a pivotal scene from the film, where a character is seen confronting a villain character in a futuristic setting. The comic strip also hinting that ‘Project K’ is set in 2050 and deals with themes like artificial intelligence, human cloning and genetic engineering.

‘Project K’ is expected to be a visual spectacle that will take the audiences on a thrilling and immersive journey where science fiction seamlessly merges with drama. The film’s music score is composed by Santhosh Narayanan with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary. ‘Project K’ is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 12 January 2024.
