'Get well soon'- Prayers queue for the Bachchans as they tested positive for COVID-19

The Bollywood film industry and fraternities, well-wishers across the country have been keeping Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan in their prayers as the father and son duo has been tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) and getting treated in Mumbai. 

Prayers and wishes pour in for the Bachchans since the development emerged which has combinedly shocked the film industries and their fans. According to the reports, Amitabh Bachchan was tested positive for the pandemic on Saturday and the thespian has been getting treated at the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai in the isolation ward.

Senior Bachchan (77) took to Twitter on Saturday night and issued the conformity that he has contracted the viral infection and stated that his family members and his staff had gone through the testing and the results were awaited. In his message, he further requested all those who came in close proximity with him in the past ten days to get themselves tested to ascertain their health condition. 

 

Hours after Amitabh Bachchan had tested positive, his son Abhishek Bachchan (44) had revealed that he has also tested positive for the pandemic. In his message, he said both of them had developed mild symptoms and have been admitted to the hospital. By appealing to people to stay calm and not panic, the junior Bachchan said that they have informed all the concerned authorities about the development, and all of his family and staff are getting tested. 

 

After hearing the news that the Bachchans had tested positive for the virus, people of all stages had sent their wishes to the father and son to have a speedy recovery. From Union Ministers Harsh Vardhan and Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to the notable celebrities including Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Mohanlal, Rana Daggubati, Sonam Kapoor, Mamooty, Mahesh Babu, and Dulquer Salman had extended their prayers for the Bachchans for their speedy recovery.

Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, and Pakistani Bowler Shoaib Akhtar had poured their wishes for the senior and junior Bachchans to get recovered from COVID-19. The reports stated that Amitabh Bachchan has been getting treated at the respiratory isolation unit at the Nanavati Hospital. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the senior Bachchan is asymptomatic and doing stable. 

Senior Bachchan was last seen in 'Gulabo Sitabo' directed by Shoojit Sircar and the movie was released recently on Amazon Prime OTT platform. According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported     8,49,553 cases so far as of Sunday 8 am of which 2,92,258 are active, 5,34,621 have been recovered, and 22,674 had succumbed to the virus.
