'The good news that I've been waiting to give you all': AR Rahman's mega announcement puts fans over the moon!

AR Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer who always enthralls his fans through his unique and undying music, has now put them over the moon by sharing a mega announcement on Wednesday. In what would become his sensational homecoming tour, AR Rahman is all set to attract the fans through his concert in Chennai.

Citing that the concerts in Chennai are always close to his heart, the reputed artist said that the announcement of his upcoming concert in his hometown is the good news that he had been waiting to share with the fans. As per the announcement, the concert will be held on August 12 at Adityaram Palace City in the East Coast Road (ECR), in the outskirts of Chennai.

Taking to Twitter, AR Rahman wrote, "The good news that I've been waiting to give you all! I'm performing at home, Chennai, on the 12th of August at Adityaram Palace City, ECR Chennai!. Your infinite love for our concerts is truly appreciated!." He further said that the window to book tickets is now open. The concert has been named 'Marakkuma Nenjam' and will be celebrating his thirty years of musical journey.

Notably, it is the second concert of AR Rahman in Chennai as in March, he has conducted a sufi concert at Nehru Stadium, Chennai to help struggling film workers, particularly lightmen, of the Tamil film industry. Rahman was instrumental in creating a corpus fund to help lightmen of the industry during their injuries and deaths at the sets.

His drive through concert to help the important workforce of the industry was appreciated by masses and it has also sparked a notion that other actors should also jump in to aid the struggles endured by the lightmen and other workers of the industry. On the work front, Rahman has several projects in his kitty. He is awaiting the release of his musical 'Maamannan' starred by Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, and helmed by Mari Selvaraj. He is also composing music for Aishwarya Rajinikanth's directorial 'Lal Salaam' and for Sivakarthikeyan starring 'Ayalaan'.
