Gujarat election results: Here's where Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba stands and what's the current status of BJP?

For popular Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, it is a nail-biting moment as his wife Rivaba Jadeja is awaiting the voters' verdict which will determine her political future in Gujarat. Rivaba Jadeja is a star candidate in the recently-held Gujarat assembly polls and the vote counting is underway while the results will be declared during the evening hours of Thursday - December 8. 

Gujarat's 182 assembly seats went to the polls in two phases on December 1 and 5. The state has recorded 64.33% voter turnout amidst the tough battle between the ruling BJP and oppositions Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The party which secures the majority mark of 92 seats would rule the state for the next five years. Several exit polls have predicted that BJP will retain its reign by recording a landslide victory. 

The vote counting began on Thursday morning and proving the predictions, BJP took a strong lead across the state in a short time which let the party to roll out early celebrations. While the party is celebrating the voters' verdict, tension remains in cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's camp as his wife Rivaba Jadeja is trailing in the race, which shocked the fans and functionaries. 

It is the first time that Rivaba got a BJP's ticket and she contested in the Jamnagar North constituency. Along with her husband, she held a hard fought campaigns with the hope that she would reach the shore with BJP's pro-incumbency wave. However, the counting so far had shown that her election show could get flopped. Though the official results are yet to get declared, the functionaries say that she will take a lead in the race that is too close to call. 

By the time of writing this content, Rivaba Jadeja stood at the third place in her election race while AAP leads it with Congress stays in the second place. According to the current data, BJP is in a humongous lead as the party is ahead in 151 seats and on the way to secure a historic majority. While the Congress is stumbling with the lead in 21 seats, AAP is all set to open its account in Gujarat as it leads in eight seats.
