Haryana Chief Minister tests positive for COVID-19, becomes the third CM in India!

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has, on Monday, tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection, becoming the third Chief Minister in India to confirmed to have contracted to the pandemic after his Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka counterparts. 

Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister of the BJP ruling state said on Monday that, "I was tested for Novel Corona Virus today. My test report has returned positive". He further appealed to all of his colleagues and associates those who came in his contact to get themselves tested. 

He said, "I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately". 

 

According to the reports, the Chief Minister has spelled positive for the global pandemic six days after he had attended a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who was later confirmed to have contracted to the viral infection. The Chief Minister had decided to stay under home quarantine on Thursday as a precautionary measure after the Union minister's result came positive. 

Khattar has become one of the national figures to get tested positive for the viral infection. Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, some of the Union Ministers, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddiyurappa had tested positive and along with them former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren had tested positive for the viral infection. 

Earlier on Monday, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and two BJP MLAs had spelled positive for the pandemic and the development has come two days ahead of the commencement of the assembly's monsoon session.
