Has Kamal Haasan got discharged from the hospital? Where the news went wrong? Deets here!

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has been hospitalized in Chennai after he had tested positive for the Covid-19 pandemic. However, social media is buzzed up with the claims that he had got discharged and what's behind such claims? A photo in which he was seen welcomed by his family to home. This photo has been doing rounds on social media only to stir a debate over his hospitalization and health condition.

Amid the spread of such claims, Kamal Haasan's political outfit Makkal Needhi Maiam has on Tuesday issued a clarification that the actor hasn't got discharged and still continues to be in the hospital. Makkal Needhi Maiam spokesperson Murali Abbas said that Kamal Haasan has not yet been discharged from the hospital and he is doing fine. Abbas had expressed his hope that the legendary actor will return home soon after a full recovery. 

According to reports, the news of his discharge went wrong with the said photo, that was clicked two years ago. The party said that the photo that is being circulated on social media is from two years ago when he returned home after foot surgery at Apollo Hospital. It's been over a week since Kamal Haasan was admitted to the hospital. On Monday- November 22, he announced that he had tested positive for the pandemic, days after returning from the United States. As he has been getting treatment, several fans and fraternities have been expressing their wishes to him for a speedy recovery. 

He said that he was suffering from a mild cough after returning from the United States. He said on Monday that he had taken the Covid test, which had returned positive. He also advised everyone not to lower their guards against the pandemic as the virus spread isn't subsided yet. Taking to social media, Kamal Haasan wrote, "I had a mild cough after returning from the United States. After testing, it was confirmed positive of Covid. I have been isolated myself in a hospital. Everyone, please stay safe by realizing that the virus spread is yet to be mitigated." 

Kamal Haasan has been admitted at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Chennai and on the day of admission, the hospital has issued an official medical bulletin concerning the actor's health condition. In a statement issued by the hospital's medical director Dr Suhas Prabhakar, the hospital said that Kamal Haasan was admitted to the hospital with complaints of lower respiratory tract infection and fever. Earlier, his daughter and actor Shruti Haasan has said that his father is recovering well and she thanked well-wishers for their prayers. 

Last Friday - November 26,  Dr Suhas Prabhakar, the Medical Director of the hospital, has issued a statement and given relief to the fans that the actor is recovering well. In his statement, he said, "Sri Kamal Haasan has been admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. He is recovering well. His condition continues to be stable." Recently, Kamal Haasan had virtually appeared on the screens of the Bigg Boss show that he hosts and gave a hosting baton to veteran actor Ramya Krishnan due to his hospitalization.

The reports say that Kamal Haasan had gone to the United States to launch a new clothing brand - KH House of Khaddar. It was launched in an event that was held in Chicago on November 15 and after the event, he had returned to India and developed symptoms, and tested positive for the pandemic. On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently in an outing for his 232nd movie 'Vikram' helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Vikram is been made as an action thriller film and bankrolled by Kamal Haasan under his own banner of Raaj Kamal Films International. While Kamal Haasan plays the lead role, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Kalidas Jayaram, Arjun Das, Sampath Raj, and Antony Varghese play important roles, and Anirudh Ravichander composes the music. The shooting of the movie has been going on at a steady pace and it has been speculated that the movie will hit the big screens next April.
