The Rajasthan Royals are desperate to secure victory in every match to sustain their dream of entering the playoffs this year. It was a contest against the very strong Mumbai Indians team lead by Kieron Pollard again and both the teams were all set to showcase their potential. 

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first. They lost the wicket of Quinton de Kock very early but Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav had put in a fantastic partnership that kept them going. At one point, the wickets of Ishan, Suryakumar, and Pollard fell in quick succession and they were 101 for four. Watch out for the splendid catch taken by Jofra Archer to dismiss Ishan Kishan. 

It was calm before the storm for the Mumbai Indians. A storm called Hardik Pandya completely changed the dynamics of their innings with some brutal hitting towards the end. He scored 60 runs from just 21 balls that included 7 spectacular sixes, many of them going out of the park. He was well supported by Saurabh Tiwari who scored 34 runs from 25 deliveries. 

At one point of time, everyone thought it was tough for the Mumbai Indians to reach a total of 160 but the firepower of Hardik Pandya helped them score a mammoth 195 runs in their 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Remember that a catch given by Hardik Pandya very early in his innings was dropped by the Rajasthan Royals.

Robin Uthappa was dismissed early in the Rajasthan innings. When Ben Stokes and Steve Smith seemed to have formed a partnership, they lost the wicket of Smith. Chasing such a big target, it was the show of Stokes and Sanju Samson. Both of them played sensibly without forcing themselves. What an outstanding innings it was from Ben Stokes! The world's best all-rounder scored a wonderful century when it mattered the most for his team. The century came in just 60 balls and he scored boundaries from every part of the ground. Sanju Samson played a very good supporting role and scored a half-century.

Rajasthan Royals made it look so easy by chasing the very big target of 196 runs with 8 wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare. With this win, they have sealed their chances to enter the playoffs with 10 points. And with this victory of the Rajasthan Royals, the Chennai Super Kings have lost their final chance of entering the playoffs this season and they are officially out of the tournament now.

It is going to be a huge fight between the teams to secure the fourth position in the points table and the rest of the series is going to be more interesting for this reason. With the fabulous and much-needed century, Ben Stokes has become the first English player to have scored two centuries in the IPL. Earlier, he had scored 103 runs while he was playing for Rising Pune Supergiant against Gujarat Lions in the 2017 season. 

With the wonderful and tenacious chase, RR had become the only team in the IPL to record the highest successful chase against MI. At the current state, MI holds first place in the points table despite the loss with 14 points. Rohit's team had played 11 matches and won seven while RR is in sixth place with ten points.
