Heinous scene of robbery in Chennai-Jaipur express!

The Chennai - Jaipur express was ought to come through the never witnessed horrific scene of the robbery a short time after the train had departed from Chennai Central Railway station by 5.40 pm on Wednesday where the armed robbers had looted the mobile phones, cash, and jewels in what it can be described as first ever kind of robbery in the city.

The reports say that the train was lowering its speed as per the limits while crossing the railway line of Basin bridge and the robbers, who were seemingly aware of the speed of the train, had got on board and allegedly robbed the possessions of passengers at knifepoint. The officials had cited that the crime happened between 5.40 pm to 6.30 pm.

The sources close to the developments had stated that the robbers get into an unreserved coach by having the low speed as their advantage and being armed, they reportedly threatened the passengers after which they abducted Rs 10,000, a 30 sovereign gold chain worth of 7.5 lakh and the mobile phones following which a passenger in the coach had pulled the chain to stop the train. The police authorities of Railway Protection Force (RPF) said that the robbers somehow managed to fleed the place and boarded a suburban train that was railing to the city where they allegedly robbed Rs 5,000 and a mobile phone from a senior citizen.

It has been reported that the passengers who lost their belongings had filed an official complaint at Gudur station in Andhra Pradesh following which the Government Railway Force (GRF) had registered a case in Chennai. An official from the railway force stated that the mob which robbed in the express was aware that the trains would reduce the speed while crossing the railway line at Basin Bridge. He added that this is the first case in the city where the masked and armed men had looted from the passengers.

The reports say that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had identified the group of men involved in the robbery through the CCTV footage and the authorities have been sieving their whereabouts.
