Finally, Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' is back in the limelight as the movie goes on the floors for shooting after a long hiatus. Helmed by Shankar, Indian 2 had a puja ceremony on Wednesday- August 24 during which several crew members exchanged smiles as this big project got back to business. The pictures from the ceremony have been going viral on social media.

According to reports, the movie team has planned to shoot the sequences that don't have Kamal Haasan and it has been reported that the legendary actor will join the sets soon. Red Giant Movies, which is distributing the movie, has dropped the surprise new look poster of Indian 2 in the night hours of Tuesday. It took to Twitter and released the posters and wrote, "He is back."

Sharing the same posters, Kamal Haasan wrote, "Filming for Indian 2 September. Wishing team Shankar and Subaskaran and everyone involved a successful journey. Welcome onboard thambi Udhayanidhi Stalin." On Wednesday, Red Giant Movies released the visuals from the ceremony and wrote, "We're all excited. Wishing Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan and Shankar sir & the whole team all the luck and love for commencing the shoot of Indian 2 today."

Through Indian 2, Shankar is joining hands with Kamal Haasan for the first time in 24 years and ever since the announcement about the movie was made in 2017, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the sequel. The film was shelved back for reasons, as Kamal was entering politics at that time, and Shankar was busy with 2.0, accidental death at the shooting spot, 2019 state elections and the COVID-19 pandemic.

After several deferments, Indian 2 is getting revived which poured a sense of excitement to the fans. Indian 2 is bankrolled by Subaskaran under his banner Lyca Productions and the movie has brought an ensemble cast. While Kamal Haasan plays the lead role, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddarth, Bobby Simha, Priva Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Guru Somasundaram, and Samuthirakani will play important roles. Anirudh is composing the music and the cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman, who also worked for Manirathnam's Ponniyin Selvan, while the editing is done by Sreekar Prasad.
