"His death shocked me" .... Rajinikanth mourns the death of his Jailer co-star Marimuthu

Superstar Rajinikanth took to Twitter to express his grief over the demise of actor-director Marimuthu, who passed away on Thursday due to a cardiac arrest. Marimuthu, who was 56, was also known for his work in the popular TV series Ethirneechal.

Rajinikanth wrote, "Marimuthu is a wonderful person. His death shocked me. My heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family." Jailer was the last film, which the late actor Marimuthu worked. He also to be seen on Indian 2, directed by Shankar.

The Tamil film and television industry is in shock after the news of actor G Marimuthu’s death broke out on Thursday morning. The actor, who was also a director and producer, suffered a cardiac arrest while dubbing for the popular serial Ethir Neechal. He was 52 years old.

Marimuthu started his career as an assistant director to Rajkiran and later worked with filmmakers like Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman and S. J. Surya. He made his directorial debut with Kannum Kannum in 2008, followed by Pulivaal in 2014. As an actor, he appeared and known for his special roles in films such as Yuddham Sei, Pariyerum Perumal, Komban, Nimirndhu Nil, and Marudhu.

Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was Marimuthu's last film as an actor. He played a supporting role in the action drama, which starred Rajinikanth as a retired jailer who seeks revenge for his son's murder. The film, which was released on August 10. Several celebrities and fans have paid tribute to Marimuthu on social media, remembering his contribution to Tamil cinema and television.
