“History in the maKING"... Jawan finally joins the 1000 crores club!

Jawan, the action-packed thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, has smashed all box office records and joined the elite club of films that have grossed over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The film, which released on September 15, 2023, has become the third-highest Hindi film globally, after Aamir Khan’s Dangal and SRK’s other film, Pathaan.

The film’s official X handle announced the milestone on Sunday, with a fiery promo of SRK in his father son duo Jawan avatar. They wrote, “History in the maKING ft. Jawan!  Have you watched it yet? Go book your tickets now! Watch #Jawan in cinemas - in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.” As per the update, the film grossed 1004.92 crores worldwide.

Jawan, directed by Atlee and produced by Gauri Khan of Red Chillies Entertainment, is the story of a secret agent who goes rogue to save his family from a deadly terrorist. The film also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles, along with a host of other actors from the South Indian film industry. The film has been praised for its high-octane action sequences, stunning visuals, and stellar performances by the lead cast.

Jawan has also received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, who have hailed it as a game-changer for Indian cinema. The film has been applauded for its seamless integration of Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages, as well as its portrayal of diverse cultures and regions of India. 

Jawan has set new benchmarks at the box office, both domestically and internationally. The film has broken several records, such as the highest opening day, weekend, and week collections for a Hindi film, the fastest film to cross Rs 100, 200, and 300 crore in India, the highest-grossing Hindi film in overseas markets, and the highest-grossing Indian film in Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

Jawan is still going strong at the ticket windows, and is expected to cross more milestones in the coming days. The film has proved that SRK is the undisputed king of Bollywood, and has cemented his position as one of the most bankable and versatile actors in the world.
