Superstar Rajinikanth, who shared screen space with Sasikumar in the blockbuster ‘Petta’, has lauded his co-star for his latest film ‘Ayothi’. The film, which premiered in theatres on March 3, is a gripping action drama that revolves around a family from Ayodhya that embarks on a pilgrimage to Rameswaram. The film showcases how their lives change after a series of events that involve Sasikumar’s character.

Rajinikanth took to Twitter to congratulate the ‘Ayothi’ team and director R. Manthira Moorthy, who made his debut with this film. He wrote, “Ayothi  After a long time for my friend Sasikumar, a hit film with a great concept. R Manthiramoorthy has proved that he is a great director in his first film. My compliments and congratulations to the producer! #Ayothi”.

Sasikumar replied to Rajinikanth’s tweet with gratitude and said, “Sir, I was very happy to be told as a friend rather than as an actor. Seeing and appreciating the film #அயோத்தி which has come out as a very simple work without any demonstration gives great hope for good works. Thank you very much sir  #SuperStar #PettaMalik".

‘Ayothi’ also stars Preethi Asrani, Yashpal Sharma, and Pugazh in pivotal roles. The film has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike for its emotional storyline, and impactful and powerful premise on family bonding and religious belief. The film is streaming on Zee5, which debuted on 7th April 2023.

The film's music is composed by NR Ragunandan, who has given some soulful songs that suit the film's mood. The cinematography by Maathesh is also praiseworthy as he captures the beauty of Rameshwaram in stunning visuals, and the editing by Sanlokesh, which is bankrolled by Trident Arts.
