Horror in Andhra: Parents beat their daughters to death with dumbbells! Here's the shocking reason!

In an awful development that shocked the entire nation on how the superstition had killed the affection, two daughters were brutally murdered by their own parents in the state of Andhra Pradesh in what was apparently seen as an occult practice. Both the parents had beaten their daughters with the dumbbell, which was further horrifying to learn, capturing how the dreadful face of superstition had triggered the parents to kill their own daughters. 

When the crime came to light and when police arrived at the spot to arrest the murderers, both the parents had asked the police to give some time that they could revive their daughters. The state of the incident and their belief that they can wake up the dead had shown that both the educated parents were in a delusional mode. According to reports, the horrific incident happened in Andhra Pradesh's Madanapalle in Chittoor district and it came to the revelation on Sunday.  

The police said that the parents were identified as Purushotham Naidu and Padmaja and they strongly believed that they have special powers that would help them revive their dead daughters. According to the police, the victims were identified as Alekhya (27) and Sai Divya (23)  and they were found dead in a pool of blood in their three-storey residence. Alekhya was working at Bhopal's Indian Institute of Forest Management and had recently left the job to pursue a career in civil services while Sai Divya was a graduate and was pursuing music at a Chennai-based AR Rahman institute.

Both the daughters had head injuries and beaten to death and it has been suspected that they could have been killed late Sunday afternoon. Their parents used the dumbbell to kill them and some residents in the area had heard a loud scream from the house following which the police were alerted. When the police reached the spot, they found that the parents were highly educated and the parents claimed that they could bring their daughters back to life. 

According to a news agency, the parents had told the police that magical things had happened in their home, and their daughters would come back to life. The police had arrested the parents and took them under their custody while they also had recovered the bodies of the daughters and sent them to the autopsy. Police had also found several ritual items at their residence and the victims were found draped in red sarees. Police further said that the couple and their daughters remained in isolation at their residence throughout the lockdown and did not allow maids inside their residence. 

Though the police said that they are still yet to ascertain full details about why and how the incident happened, they had confirmed that that the parents are not acting normal. Naidu is a professor of chemistry and vice-principal at the Government Girls' Degree College in Madanapalle, while Padmaja identifies herself as a gold medallist, postgraduate in mathematics, who was working at an IIT coaching institute. Both are in their 50s. The police have been looking at CCTV cameras in the locality to ascertain the movement in and around the house.
