How a Madurai salon owner got a surprise felicitation from PM Modi?

For most of the nation, Sunday's 'Mann Kit Baat' address was normal and usual from the Prime Minister but for Mohan, who owns a salon shop, in Madurai district, Tamil Nadu, the radio address was the combination of surprise and honor as his on-ground efforts and contributions to rescue the poor from getting suffered in the wake of the lockdown has attained the national audience. 

Mohan belongs to Melamadai in Madurai and he has been helping the poor living in his locality who have been affected in the wake of the lockdown through his lifetime savings of Rs 5 lakh since the lockdown began. 

He has been banking the savings for his daughter's education, who is studying eighth grade and after his daughter asked him to help the affected people, he has used his lifetime savings and outcome is, he has now saved the surprise felicitation and honor from the Prime Minister.

In his Maan Ki Baat radio address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there are countless people who are contributing everything they have to help and serve others in difficult times and one among them is Mohan from Tamil Nadu and he has spent his entire savings for helping the poor, needy, and underprivileged facing hardships. 

After the Prime Minister sent a surprise compliment to Mohan in his national address, people living in his locality in Madurai had felicitated him. Along with praising Mohan, the Prime Minister has also named out some of the samaritans including Gautam Das of Agartala, Raju, a divyang from Pathankot for contributing the needy who are under predicament in the wake of the lockdown and COVID-19 crisis.

Prime Minister Modi has appealed to the people 'to stay alert and vigil to contain the spread amid the outbreak and lockdown as the Central government has lifted the ban on major sectors across the country'.  On Monday, Modi further asserted that India would win the battle against the Coronavirus pandemic through its doctors and medical workers.
