How PM Modi felt after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine? Nurse who administered the vaccine reveals!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Monday taken the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi when India had begun its second phase of the vaccination drive to inoculate the doses for people above 60 years and for people above 45 years with comorbidities. The second phase has come nearly six weeks after the first phase, which was rolled out with the aim of vaccinating three crore frontline workers.

The Prime Minister took to Twitter and shared the photo of receiving the shot and he also appealed to eligible people to receive the vaccine to make India COVID-19 free. He wrote, "Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!"

While the Prime Minister has received the first dose of Covaxin, the vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the nation had gone abuzz over the nurses who administered the vaccine for Narendra Modi. It has been identified that the nurse who had administered the vaccine to the Prime Minister is Nivedha, who is a native of Puducherry.

Nurse Nivedha has been posted at AIIMS Delhi for the last three years and she is currently been posted at the vaccine center. She came to know on Monday morning that the Prime Minister is coming to receive the vaccine. While addressing the reporters, Nivedha said that the Prime Minister had told 'Already done? I didn't even feel it', after receiving the vaccine.

Nivedha said, "We found out PM sir is coming for vaccination this morning. When I came here, I got to know that he is coming. It was really nice to meet sir".  She added that the Prime Minister had asked them where they belong. In the Prime Minister's photo, another nurse can be seen and she has been identified as Rosamma Anil from Kerala. Rosamma said she was overwhelmed to meet the Prime Minister.

"It was very nice to meet the Prime Minister and he was very comfortable", Rosamma added. The nurses said that they had informed the Prime Minister that he will need to take his second dose of vaccine in 28 days. The Prime Minister has received the vaccine when India had begun the second phase of the vaccination drive of vaccinating people above 60 years and people about 45 years with comorbidities.

The registration for the second phase has begun on Monday at around 9 am and the registration can be done on Co-WIN 2.0 portal. People who are eligible for the second phase of the vaccination drive can register and book an appointment for receiving the vaccine anytime and anywhere using the portal or through other applications such as Arogya Setu. While the COVID-19 vaccine will be given free of cost at government-run facilities, people who wish to get vaccinated at private hospitals must pay for the vaccine and for the service.

According to reports, the private facilities will be charging Rs 250 per vaccine dose. It has been reported that Rs 250 will be the ceiling - Rs 150 would be the cost of the vaccine while Rs 100 will be a service charge. This arrangement will remain effective till further orders and the Central government has been informed about the arrangement for all the states and union territories.
