How Rajagopalan threatened us? Shocking statement from an affected student of PSBB School!

The prestigious Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB) School in Chennai has been surfaced with outrage over the sexual harassment allegations levied on a male teacher and while the Chennai police had on Monday arrested the accused teacher Rajagopalan and remanded him under judicial custody, some of the former students had shockingly revealed sexual misconduct posed by him and how they got affected through his awful behaviour.

Rajagopalan had been working in the school for two decades and was teaching accounts and business studies. He had been harassing the girl students, body shaming them, and sending links to porn sites. Rajagopalan had been displaying a pervert in him despite the students had complained against him to the school management. They allege that the school management has failed to take action against the accused teacher.

A former student of the PSBB School had taken on social media and shared how Rajagopalan had behaved with them. She told that apart from attending online classes half-naked with only a towel wrapped around his body, he also had sent obscene WhatsApp messages and made remarks about the girl students' photos. Speaking to a news agency, a former student has said, "Rajagopalan has also made comments about their physical appearance and asked one student to go out to the movies with him."

She wrote on social media, "Many of my batchmates and juniors have been harassed by Rajagopalan. It got out of hand when he recently asked one of my friends whether she wanted to go to a movie with him and sent a link to pornographic content in a class group. Even though I complained to the dean, no action was taken. So, a group of us has decided to seek legal action." Her comments had powered the allegations and sparked more flak towards the school.

One of the affected students said that Rajagopalan even used to threaten each of his students not to disclose his personnel comments to their parents or friends. She said, "He would threaten to reduce our marks in exams if any of the student lodges complain against him." She further confirmed that he reportedly attends online classes wearing shorts. The students allege that the accused teacher had sent his photo to some students and forced them to sent their pictures, which he would later put out a comment.

Most of the students say that they had complained to the school management about Rajagopalan's inappropriate behaviour, but the management has failed to take action against the accused teacher. The shocking issue came to light on Sunday when the former and current students of the school had petitioned the management to urge action against the teacher and the petition was later released on social media.

On Monday, the Chennai police had arrested Rajagopalan and remanded him under judicial custody. The police officials had also seized his laptop and mobile phone for investigation. According to reports, the accused teacher was arrested by Ashok Nagar All Women Police Station and he was arrested after several hours of questioning.

The police had initiated the action after complaints were received against the teacher. The police team headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayalakshmi had gone to the school to investigate the matter following which they had brought the accused teacher, his wife, and his mother to the Vadapalani police station to interrogate them. The police then had seized the teacher's laptop and mobile phone.

As the teacher was accused of sending obscene messages and links to porn sites to the students through his mobile phone, the police had involved the cybercrime unit to retrieve the data that he had deleted from his mobile. After several hours of questioning, the Ashok Nagar police had arrested him and filed a case against him under sections 11 and 12 (Sexual Harassment of Children) of the POCSO Act 2012, sections 354(A) -Sexual Harassment and 509 (Insulting modesty of a woman) of IPC and Sections 67 (Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.

Following arresting the accused teacher, the police had initiated the drive to remand him. The police officials had produced Rajagopalan before Justice Mohammed Farooq of Chennai Mahila Court at his residence in Virugambakkam. After the hearing, the justice had directed the police to lodge Rajagopalan in the prison for 15 days till June 8 under judicial custody for further investigations. After the order of judicial custody, the police had taken Rajagopalan to Central Prison in Puzhal and lodged him in the prison.
