How Rajinikanth chooses his directors?

Superstar Rajinikanth, after wrapping up from A R Murugadoss's 'Darbar', has united with Director Siruthai Siva for his next movie that would be produced by Sun Pictures. He is most likely to join hands with Director Lokesh Kanagaraj after staging off from the movie with Siva and the Superstar's choice of picking the directors in recent times had revealed that he has changed the track to work with the battalion of the current age directors.

During his beginning stage in the Tamil cinema industry, Rajinikanth acted mostly in the movies directed by K Balachander, S P Muthuraman, R Thyagarajan, and Rajasekar. Although he worked with the other directors, he was more specific and wished to join with these directors and their combinations had given everlasting movies. After gearing up to the next level, Rajinikanth had a prospect of choosing the directors to work with during which the other set of directors like P Vasu, K.S Ravikumar, and Suresh Krishna were on the rise and Rajini had worked with Mani Ratnam in a single movie after which the duo didn't turn up despite the success of the movie as they were cementing their path in opposite directions.

Annamalai was the movie that brought the spotlight towards Rajinikanth. The movie was directed by Suresh Krishna accidentally as the movie was initially inducted Vasanth, the disciple of Balachander, who produced the movie, as its director but the role was given to Suresh Krishna two days prior to the commencement of the shooting. In the beginning, Rajinikanth didn't observe a good rapport with Suresh Krishna but this duo had united and presented four back to back movies and the mass movie of 'Baasha' was one of the movies. Inline to the successful movies of Suresh Krishna, K.S Ravikumar has joined with Rajinikanth to pour more fame and success on the Actor's growth where the movies like 'Muthu' and 'Padayappa' registered a massive hit but the duo had somehow slipped away in their last movie 'Lingaa'.

Rajinikanth's victorious path was barricaded by the movie 'Baba' that failed to attain success unlike 'Padayappa'. After the failure, the die-hard fans of the actor seemingly lost hope in his movies after which Rajinikanth was pushed to the mandate of presenting successful movies and it was during that time he picked director P Vasu that had shocked his fans as they believed that P Vasu was out of the spotlight with repeated failures. The fans were further shocked to know that the duo would be remaking the Malayam movie 'Manichitrathazhu' into Tamil. Rajini stood by his decision and he strongly hoped that it would deliver huge success and his hope had lived as the movie 'Chandramukhi' attained a blockbuster hit through which Rajinikanth fast-tracked his growth and the movie had rained the income on Shivaji Productions, which produced the movie in the middle of the deficit.

Rajinikanth then paired with Shankar, who has been known as the magnificent director in Tamil cinema and though they have been on the peak, they lately united together after which the movies like 'Shivaji', 'Enthiran', and '2.0' were born. Rajini has been on the track of choosing the directors who had vast experience and given successful movies until he took a swift of picking the directors, that had changed in recent times.  Directors like Paa Ranjith, Karthik Subburaj had directed his last movies that managed to keep the actor on the track of the current trend and in line with that, he now units with Siruthai Siva and likely to join with Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Siruthai Siva is very known for directing movies like Siruthai, Veeram, Vedhalam and his last movie of Viswasam had attracted Rajinikanth that had now brought the icons together. Rajini deeply admired 'Viswasam' acted by Ajith, despite giving competition to his movie 'Petta'. Rajinikanth seemingly invited Siva to direct the movie that will stay close to the families like 'Kadaikutty Singam', 'Viswasam', and 'Namma Veetu Pillai'. The shooting has been underway and recently the movie inducted the veteran actresses Meena and Kushboo for the lead roles which had pictured more expectations among the fans to witness the movie which would be similar to 'Muthu', and 'Annamalai'.
