Speaking with the press, Gautham Menon stated, "Thangar Bachan is a good friend of mine. It was an honour, and I couldn't refuse his request. Before even seeing the film, I agreed to sign it."

He added, "It occurred to me as I was reading the story to wonder who was playing Ramanathan. When I first heard it's Bharathiraja sir, I felt like a new world had opened up to me. At the very least, I'll have the opportunity to spend 20 days with Sir. In addition, he had no idea that I had previously tried to work as of assistant director with him. Therefore, I figured this was my best chance,"

"I think this story would be better served as a novel, and I would love to know what the movie adaptation will have in the screen. Working in tihs film feels like home. I never feel like I'm an actor; it's always as if I'm sitting in someone else's. From the beginning, I saw myself as a director", he furthered.

Karumegangal Karaindrana is being produced by D. Veerashakti through WOW Media Entertainment. GV Prakash composed the music and this is his first colloboartion with the director, as the director's frequent colloborator was Ilayaraja. Vairamuthu penned the lyrics for the songs. The last film under his direction was 'Kalavadiya Podhogol' starred Prabhu Deva. Next he will be directing the movie 'Takku Mukku Thikku Thalam' where Thangar Bachchan's son Vijith Bachchan will make his debut as a hero with this film.
