'I got a call from Lokesh to act in Vikram and now a call to act in his next film': A popular director reveals!

As Lokesh Kanagaraj is building his universe for his second collaboration with Vijay in a tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 67', a popular director has now revealed that he was called by Lokesh to act in Thalapathy 67. Interestingly, the director divulged for the first time that he got a call from Lokesh to act in what later became a blockbuster movie - Vikram.

Popular director Gautham Vasudev Menon is awaiting the release of his upcoming movie 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' in which Simbu plays the lead role. Recently, the movie had its audio launch and it has been slated for a theatrical release on September 15. A week ahead of the release, Gautham Vasudev Menon was interviewed by a channel in which he opened up about the call he received from Lokesh Kanagaraj.

In the interview, he says, "Lokesh asked me to act in Vikram but then things didn't work out and now he has given me a call to act in his next film." This particular portion of the interview is being spread rampantly on social media and has become the talk of the town with several users predicting what role would have Gautham Menon played in Vikram.

Most of the users say he might have done a role of a police officer in place of Chemban Vinoth in Vikram and as Gautham Menon has got a call from Lokesh to act in Thalapathy 67, fans have gone agog and left their imaginations on how could it be if Gautham Menon plays a police officer when Vijay is a gangster. Besides building an illustrious career as a director, Gautham Menon has also been appearing in the movies in recent years.

For the past two years, he has acted in a handful of movies including 'Trance', 'Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal', 'Rudra Thandavam', 'FIR', 'Selfie', and 'Sita Ramam'. Earlier, it was reported that the stars from Beast and Vikram have been roped into Thalapathy 67. As per the reports, Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, who shared the screen space with Vijay in Beast, has joined Thalapathy 67 and so does another Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil, who acted in the movie Vikram.

Both these Mollywood actors are going to play important roles in Thalapathy 67 and Lokesh is planning to expand his universe. Adding to this, another Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is also in talks to get roped in for Thalapathy 67. Vijay's current project Varisu is bankrolled by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. While Vijay plays the lead role, Rashmika Mandanna will be playing the female lead and Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Khushbu and Ganesh Venkatraman will be playing crucial roles. Thaman is composing the music and the movie is scheduled to be released in theatres in January 2023 during the Pongal festival.
