'I pray to all of you, remember this': PM Modi appeals to the nation with folded hands!

In what has become a seventh televised address since the COVID-19 lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed the nation on Tuesday and touched upon the areas of the economy and the global pandemic and laid down the assertion of how the government is progressing towards curbing the COVID-19 outbreak and resuscitating the economy. 

The Prime Minister has commenced his address at 6 pm on Tuesday and spoken about the nation's fight against the pandemic and his address has come at a high time when the people are preparing for the festive seasons amid the outbreak. In his address, he said India is in a stable situation with the efforts of every citizen over the last seven to eight months and it should not get deteriorated and cited that the economy would soon bounce back. 

He pressed that COVID-19 still persists in the country while the lockdown might have ended. He said, "In this festive season, markets are bright again but we need to remember that the lockdown might have ended but COVID19 still persists. With efforts of every Indian over the last 7-8 months, India is in a stable situation we must not let it deteriorate". 

By reiterating the COVID-19 efforts, the Prime Minister made the comparison with the most affected countries by COVID-19 and pressed that the recovery rate in the country is good. He said, "Today, the recovery rate in the country is good. The fatality rate is low. 5,500 people out of every 10 Lakh population in India are infected, whereas in countries like the US & Brazil this figure is around 25,000". 

Speaking about the COVID-19 fatality rate, the Prime Minister said the fatality rate in India is 83 out of every 10 lakh population in India while it is more than 600 in countries like the US, Brazil, Spain, and Britain. He further instructed everyone to adhere to the guidelines and protocols. By citing that people aren't careful, the Prime Minister appealed to the people to wear the mask in public places and reduce putting the families at risk. 

He quoted that the United States and Europe had witnessed a surge in cases after a decline and asked everyone to strictly follow the rules and protocols to mitigate the spread given the crucial period of festive seasons. The Prime Minister called the increase in the number of tests has been the country's strength and said, "India has a facility of more than 90 lakh beds for #COVID19 patients. There are 12,000 quarantine centres, around 2000 Corona testing labs. The number of tests will cross 10 Crores soon. In our fight against COVID, a rise in the number of tests has been our strength".

Addressing the nation about the COVID-19 vaccine, the Prime Minister said, "All countries are working on a war-footing for making COVID-19 vaccine. The government is preparing for making the vaccine accessible to every Indian as soon as it is made available". His address had lasted for eleven minutes and with a folded hands, he appealed to the people to follow COVID19 protocols and guidelines issued by the government in curbing the spread. 

The Prime Minister said, "I pray to all of you, I want to see all of you safe and your families happy. I want to see festivals bring cheer your lives". This has been his seventh address to the nation since the lockdown and has come at the crucial time when his government has been levied with the challenge to address the ailing economy and lifting up the affected and vulnerable livelihoods. As the festive seasons near, he had appealed to the people to adhere to the government's protocols while celebrating the festivals.
