'I spoke about politics with Governor RN Ravi, but...': Rajinikanth opens up after the high-level meeting!

Superstar Rajinikanth is back in the headlines, thanks to the rendezvous that he had with Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi in Chennai on Monday - August 8. The meeting was the talk of the state as every development of it including the visuals has been going viral on social media. While scores of tweeple linked the meeting to the actor's politics, Rajinikanth has asserted that he will not enter politics.

He said that he spoke about politics with Governor RN Ravi but he has no plans to come to politics. The meeting has held at Raj Bhavan, the Governor's official residence, and it lasted for thirty minutes. After wrapping up the meeting, Rajinikanth addressed the reporters at his residence in Poes Garden during which he said that he will not be joining politics and opened up about what Governor told him.

Notably, it is the first time that Rajinikanth has met Governor RN Ravi privately. The superstar said that the meeting with the Governor was a courtesy call and both had a discussion for thirty minutes. By admitting that he spoke about politics with the Governor, Rajinikanth has declined to share what he has discussed with RN Ravi. He further revealed that the shooting for his next movie 'Jailer' would commence on August 15 or 22.

Speaking to the reporters, Rajinikanth said, "The Governor has a lot of love for Tamil Nadu and for its people. He has a lot of respect for the Tamil people's honesty and hard work. The Governor told me that he is willing to work extremely hard for the welfare of Tamil Nadu." When asked about the recent price hike and inflation, Rajinikanth has refused to comment on it.

On the other hand, several social media users have raised speculations about whether the central ruling BJP is planning to award a big post to Rajinikanth. The users have asked after the meeting whether Rajinikanth is going to become a Governor or MP and such speculations have come after similar claims have become true in the case of musical maestro Illaiyaraaja, who is now a nominated MP in the Rajya Sabha. After Rajinikanth met the Governor, Raj Bhavan took to Twitter and released a photo of the meeting. The Governor's office wrote, "Governor Ravi and Thiru Rajinikanth had a delightful meeting today at Raj Bhavan, Chennai."
