'I will not shut up. Keep trying': Actor Siddharth to BJP after receiving death threats!

Kollywood actor Siddharth has on Thursday put out a shocking tweet that he has been intimidated by the BJP members. Siddharth, who is a staunch critic of the BJP government, has recently slammed the Modi-led Central government's flawed management of handling the second wave of the pandemic and the reports say that his anti-BJP notion would be the reason why the BJP supporters launched the drive of threatening him.

The actor said he had received over 500 phone calls of intimidation and the caller details were recorded and handed over to the police. He had vowed that he will not go dumb for these threats and challenged the Central ruling party to keep trying. Taking to Twitter, Siddharth said, "My phone number was leaked by members of TN BJP and @BJPtnITcell. Over 500 calls of abuse, rape, and death threats to me & family for over 24 hrs. All numbers recorded (with BJP links and DPs) and handing over to Police."

By tagging the official Twitter handles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Siddharth said, "I will not shut up. Keep trying." In another tweet in the same thread, Siddharth had shared a screenshot of Facebook comments that leveled against him. It was visible in the screenshot had messages from a user called Geetha Vasanth which were in the fashion of instigating other BJP members to attack Siddharth.

Geetha Vasanth had apparently shared Siddharth's contact number and says, "This is his (Siddharth's) contact number. No one should call and scold him". Replying to her message, another user Krishna Prasath says, "(Number) switch off from the afternoon" and Geetha Vasanth replies back and says, "He (Siddharth) shouldn't turn his SIM card on. Is it difficult for us to find his new SIM...He should never open his mouth again." Krishna Prasath says, "Yes sister. We should not let him go."

Geetha Vasanth further says, "He is always after us". By sharing the screenshot of these social media comments that threatened him, Siddharth said, "This is one of many social media posts by BJP TN members leaking my number yesterday and telling people to attack and harass me. "Ivan inimela vaaye thirakka koodathu" (this fellow must never open his mouth again) We might survive Covid. Will we survive these people?"

Ever since the 42-year-old actor shared the shocking message that he has been threatened, Siddharth has been poured with several voices of support on social media. Being a staunch critic of the Modi government, he has recently flayed the Center over its management of the second wave of the pandemic. He also had slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his governance of fixing the oxygen shortage.

With reports saying that Adityanath has been asserting that the state has no oxygen shortage amid the dearth of oxygen, Siddharth said, "Any false claims of being a decent human being or a holy man or a leader will face one tight slap." Days after his strong hit-outs against the BJP governments, the BJP members have now lined up and begun attacking and threatening the actor as a prospect to show their allegiance to the party.

He also had castigated Modi for making the COVID-19 vaccine as the party's poll promise in West Bengal. While many social media users flayed the Prime Minister for such a promise and demanded him to provide free vaccines to the people living in the states that are already been ruled by the BJP, Siddharth said, "When you are voted out of power one day, this country will truly be vaccinated. It's coming. We will still be here...at least to remind you of this tweet."

His tweets against BJP have come when the entire country is facing an adverse impact brought by the second wave of the pandemic. Most of the leading global media had criticized the Modi government for its distorted approach and management towards containing the pandemic.
