The iconic Superstar pair joins hands for the first time in 23 years...Fans go agog!

One of the most celebrated Kollywood couples is going to join hands for the first time in 23 years. The announcement of an epic reunion has poured a sense of agog to the fans across and beyond the borders as they await to relish the comeback of the stars. As speculated, Ramya Krishnan is going to join hands with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time since 1999. 

Thanks to the Jailer movie team for making this reunion happen. For the first time, Ramya Krishnan has opened up about the development to the media and she revealed that she has been roped in to act in a pivotal role in Rajinikanth's upcoming movie. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Ramya Krishnan has divulged that she is a part of Jailer, helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar.  

Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan have acted together for the last time in 'Padaiyappa' in 1999. In Padaiyappa, Ramya Krishnan has sported the antagonist role of Neelambari and it was one of the superhit movies for both the doyens. It must be noted that Ramya Krishnan has acted in a cameo role in the movie 'Baba' starred by Rajinikanth in 2002. She didn't appear for more time on the screen and now, she is all set to share the screen with the Superstar. 

As per the reports, Ramya Krishnan joined the shooting for Jailer on August 10 - Wednesday. Jailer has been as a commercial entertainer, Jailer has also roped in Kannada star Shivaraj Kumar in a crucial role. It has been touted that popular actress Tamannah is in talks to play the female lead, but the official announcement is yet to be made by the makers. 

Ramya Krishnan is awaiting for the release of her upcoming movie 'Liger' which features actor Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey. Liger is directed by Puri Jagannadh and it has been slated for a theatrical release on August 25. On the other hand, Jailer is Rajinikanth's 169th movie and is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. Anirudh has composed the music while Vijay Kartik Kannan handles the cinematography.
