Alphonse Puthren, the acclaimed director of Premam and Neram, has decided to quit social media for good. The filmmaker announced his decision in a candid post on his official Facebook account, where he revealed the reasons behind his move.

Puthren said that his posts on Instagram and Facebook were causing discomfort to his mother, father, and sisters, who were facing intimidation from some relatives. He also said that he wanted to maintain peace and harmony in his family, and that he was grateful to his well-wishers.

"I have decided not to post Instagram and Facebook anymore because my mother, father, and sisters don’t like what I post on Instagram, and some relatives are intimidating them. I say that if I keep quiet, everyone will find peace. Then so be it. Thanks to many people.", he wrote.

The director’s decision comes after he faced a lot of criticism and trolling for his latest film Gold. The director’s fans and followers expressed their support and solidarity with him, and thanked him for his contributions to Malayalam cinema. They also wished him all the best for his future endeavors, and hoped that he would return to social media someday.
