Ilaiyaraaja's singing New Year wishes...Check how Kamal Haasan reacted to the maestro's surprise video!

Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja took everyone into a big surprise on Friday- December 31 through his New Year wishes. The veteran musician has recited a popular song composed by him to convey his wishes and the video of his singing has been going viral on social media, which also had dotted up the rumours about his health condition. 

No New Year will dawn in Tamil Nadu without a classical masterpiece song 'Ilamai Idho Idho' from the 1982 blockbuster movie 'Sakalakala Vallavan', starred by Kamal Haasan. The song would begin with Kamal Haasan wishing everyone a happy New Year. While the lyrics of the song was penned by Vaali, it was sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam and the music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. It was this legendary trio that made the song perennial across and beyond the borders. 

It's been four decades since the movie was released and this song has always been on the top of the card when it comes to welcoming and celebrating the New Year. As 2022 is fast approaching, the song is back in the limelight not only because of being a signature song to welcome the New Year but also because of a reciting from the master himself, which has become a special wish for his fans. 

Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja has sung the song and shared the video on his Twitter page to wish a very happy new year for his fans and people. In a thirty-second video, Ilaiyaraaja was seen travelling in the car while he was singing the song. For the fans, the master singing the masterpiece has become a treat and his video has been going viral and the musician is flooded with the new year wishes. 

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has reacted to Ilayaraaja's video in which he said that the musical icon stays young always. Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan wrote, "I have met Ilayaraaja just three days ago. He spoke enthusiastically as an unchanged youth. Today I saw him more younger while singing Ilamai Idho Idho. Happy New Year (wishes) for my elder brother who stays young in his heart." On the work front, Ilaiyaraaja has recently composed music for the movie 'Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum' and he has several movies in his pipeline including Vijay Sethupathi starring 'Maamanithan', Vetri Maran directorial 'Viduthalai', Vishal starring 'Thupparivalan 2', and Pa Ranjith's directorial 'Natchathiram Nagargirathu'.
