'I'm upset': Ajith's open letter to his fans...What made 'Thala' break his silence?

As the sequel of some of the disturbing events surfaced around his upcoming movie 'Valimai', actor Ajith Kumar has broken his silence and penned an open letter to his fans. Besides bracing up a long wait for the movie, Valimai has also captured the first-of-its-kind remark from Thala as he has said that he is upset over the events that occurred recently around his movie.

In an unprecedented fashion, Ajith's upcoming 'Valimai' has become the actor's only film in recent times to catch major expectations from the fans and audiences as the ardent fans have been yearning for the update from the moviemaker on the state of the movie, the release of the first look poster and teaser. The expectations are brewing to the sequel that the movie has been on the floor for over one year without an update to the fans.

The fans have been going hard against Valimai producer Boney Kapoor for not speaking about the update. They have been demanding him to release the update as the Tamil cinema industry has been gaining normalcy from the COVID-19 lockdown by witnessing a regular release of a movie. Tamil Nadu had seen the release of nearly dozens of movies, but Valimai is far from the sight of the fans and audiences.

The long wait was wrongly played by some of the fans of Ajith who have been asking for the movie update wherever they go. While they took social media to display their expectations through circulating memes and trolls and asking for the movie update, they had now gone to the extent of asking for updates of Valimai at public and political events. What made Ajith break his silence is the recent actions of the fans that stirred controversies.

Some of his fans were seen holding up the posters asking for 'Valimai' update at Chepauk Cricket Stadium in Chennai during the India-England Test match. In a video that has been circulating on social media, one of the fans, who was watching the cricket match in the stadium, was heard calling England bowler Moeen Ali, who was standing the boundary line, and the fan can be heard saying, 'Moeen Ali, Valimai Update'.

While he had asked the English bowler about Valimai update, another fan had gone to the extent of holding a poster asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Valimai update when he visited Chennai on Sunday. Some of the fans had stormed Twitter and asked the Prime Minister about the update. As these events had shocked the movie team, Ajith had on Monday broken his silence and displayed his upset at such actions.

He released a statement in which he said, "For the last few days, the activities of some of the people under the guise of my fans asking for the update of Valimai in government, political, sporting events had upset me. As announced before, the update about the movie will come at the right time. I'll co-operate with the producer to decide that time. Until that, please wait patiently. Cinema is just entertainment for you. But for me, it is my profession. My decisions depend on my work and social welfare. Our respect in this society is decided by our actions".

"I request my fans to observe dignity and discipline in public places and in social media by having this in mind. I hope that those who truly love me will act accordingly", Ajith penned in what has become his first open letter to his fans over his upcoming movie Valimai. Ajith's letter was officially released by Suresh Chandra, who is the manager for Ajith, in his official Twitter handle and since he released Ajith's letter, it has been going viral across social media.

Ajith's letter has come hours after the movie update from 'Valimai' producer Boney Kapoor. On Monday, Boney Kapoor took to Twitter and said, "Wanakam. Humbled by your love towards our film “Valimai”. Bear with us as we work on presenting the First look soon. It’s in the best interests of the film." Recently, in an interview with Forbes on his acting and upcoming movies, producer Boney Kapoor has shared the update about Ajith's next 'Valimai' during which he asserted that the post-production of the movie will start soon. He said, "The entire filming will be over by February 15, 2021, barring one stunt sequence to be shot overseas. Post-production will start soon. The release date is to be finalized".

Let's OTT Global had earlier said that Valimai's first look will be unveiled in March 2021. Valimai will be the second outing for Boney Kapoor with Ajith so is for director Vinoth, who directed 'Neerkonda Parvaai' previously that was starred by Ajith. Produced by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects, Valimai has Ajith in the lead role while Huma Qureshi has been roped in as the female lead and Kartikeya Gummakonda will be playing in the important role. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for the movie while Nirav Shah will be taking care of cinematography.
