As India joins the club of lowest scores, take a look at the lowest scores in the history of test cricket!

As India ended its campaign with the worst record that was made possible by the flawed performances by Kohli's fleet against Australia in its first test match, the cricketing fans have been taking to social media and expressing their shock to witness the unprecedented collapsing of the Indian batting line-up which had let the host register a big victory.

India started the second innings with the lead of 53 runs against the host, Australia, and on Saturday, what the Indian fans witnessed was a flopped show and a strong retaliation from the Aussies after India had ended its second innings by scoring only 36 runs and lost nine wickets while Mohammed Shami has gone retired hurt. No Indian batsmen had gone past ten runs with three were dismissed for a duck. Mayank Agarwal was the highest scorer in the 2nd innings as he had scored nine runs while Pujara, Rahane, and Ashwin went for a duck.

By putting a very least score, India has given Australia a target of 90 runs to win the first match. While Josh Hazlewood recording a five-wicket haul by getting five wickets, Pat Cummins had got four wickets. With the easy target on board, Australia came to the crease with Matthew Wade and Joe Burns opening the innings, and while Wade got dismissed for 33 runs, Burns held the crease tight and drove his team towards the target. With 51 runs from Joe Burns, Australia has won the first match by eight wickets. The host had scored 93 runs and lost two wickets and it has taken a lead in the four-match test series.

By scoring 36 runs, India has recorded a flawed and worst milestone by putting the lowest score on board ever in its test cricket history. Previously, India's score of 42 runs against England in 1974 was India's lowest test score. As India ended up with an awful score and with the pressure to surge in the next match, let's take a look at the list of the 11 lowest scores in a single innings in the history of test cricket.

1) The match between New Zealand and England in 1955 had recorded the lower test score ever in history. New Zealand was playing against England in Auckland during which New Zealand has got dismissed for 26 runs, the least ever to date. 2) In 1896, South Africa was playing against England in Port Elizabeth in which the former has ended up scoring only 30 runs. 3) As in 1896, South Africa had scored 30 runs against England in a match that was held in 1924 in Birmingham, England.

4) In 1899, same South Africa played against England at Cape Town during which the former had scored 35 runs in that test match. 5) In 1932, South Africa managed to score 36 runs against Australia at Melbourne. 6) In 1902, Australia was playing against England at Birmingham during which Australia recorded its least test score ever by scoring 36 runs.

7) The match between India and Australia that held in Adelaide on Saturday had recorded the lowest score of India in its test cricket history after Kohli's fleet ended up scoring 36 runs. 8) In 2019, Ireland was playing against England at Lord's during which the former had scored 38 runs in an innings. 9) Under the captaincy of Ajit Wadekar, India was playing against England in 1974 during which India had scored its second least score of 42 runs.

10) In 1946, New Zealand was playing against Australia at Wellington and the host had ended up scoring 42 runs. 11) It was the oldest match on the list as Australia has scored 42 runs against England in the match that was held at Sydney in 1888. As India had recorded its least score against Australia on Saturday with the host winning the match leniently, Kohli and the team has been pushed to come back stronger to build a winning momentum. The second test match will be taking place from December 26 to 30 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
