In a significant milestone for the South Indian film industry, Suriya, one of its brightest stars, is all set to embark on his 43rd cinematic journey, promising a cinematic experience like no other. This landmark project not only marks the Soorarai Potru duo's second collaboration, but also introduces Bollywood talent Vijay Varma to Tamil cinema.

Amidst the buzz and anticipation, Vijay Varma expressed his excitement about this new venture, sharing his delight about working with the esteemed director Sudha Kongara and the talented team she has assembled. "I’m so thrilled and delighted to be working with you and this fantastic team Sudha ma’am has brought together. My first Tamil film and it can’t get grander than this! Onwards," he exclaimed, capturing the essence of his enthusiasm.

Suriya, apart from essaying the lead role, is also taking on the role of a producer under his own banner, 2D Entertainment, adding a personal touch to this film. The film, aptly titled 'Purananooru', hinted at by a captivating promo unveiled by Suriya himself, promises to be a period drama woven against the backdrop of a massive agitation.

Helmed by Sudha Kongara, whose directorial brilliance was lauded in the critically acclaimed 'Soorarai Pottru', 'Purananooru' is a testament to her storytelling finesse. The tagline, "Rustic. Powerful. Strong," teased by the makers, provides an intriguing peek into the thematic title teaser video of the film, leaving audiences eager for more.

Adding to the allure of this project is the music composer GV Prakash, marking his remarkable 100th project as a music composer, promising a soul-stirring soundtrack that will undoubtedly elevate the film’s emotional resonance. Furthermore, the film boasts an ensemble cast that also includes Malayalam sensation Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and several other versatile actors, promising a powerhouse performance on screen.
