It's official: Chiyaan Vikram's 'Mahaan' gets OTT release...Here's when and where you can watch!

Chiyaan Vikram starred 'Mahaan' marks to be the first-of-its-kind movie on many fronts including being the first movie where the stellar actor will act alongside his son Dhruv Vikram and being the first big movie for Vikram to get released directly on the OTT platform. Amid being speculated over the movie skipping the theatrical release, the makers have on Monday - January 24 officially announced that the movie is all set to walk with the new leg of the cinema industry. 

Ahead of making the announcement, the movie team had the fans settle for a big update and informed on social media that the update will be released on Monday at 3 pm. As announced, the makers have said that Mahaan would get released directly on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. The movie will hit the hands of the fans and audiences in four languages - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. 

Earlier, the movie team was working out to have a theatrical release and the plan has flopped after a spoilsport from the Covid-19 pandemic, that triggered the makers to go for the OTT release. The reports in the know say that Mahaan is a gangster movie that was made in North Madras and thanks to the director and the team for bringing the father Vikram and his son Dhruv together in the movie for the first time. 

On January 24, Amazon Prime announced the release. Taking to Twitter, the OTT giant wrote, "Live life, Mahaan style. Watch #MahaanOnPrime, Feb 10 in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Also, releasing in Kannada." Director Karthik Subbaraj wrote, "#MahaanOnPrime from Feb10th!!."  Mahaan is bankrolled by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio and while the movie is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Vikram plays the lead role. Dhruv Vikram, Vani Bhojan, Bobby Simha, Simran, and Sananth play important roles. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music. 

Producer Lalit Kumar has said, "I am extremely excited to premiere Mahaan on Prime Video. Karthik Subbaraj has done a fabulous job in creating the perfect mix of action, drama, and emotions. The film has an incredibly talented and wonderful star cast who have given stellar performances to make the story even more compelling for our audiences. We are eagerly looking forward to reaching fans across 240 countries and territories, with the exclusive worldwide premiere of Mahaan on Prime Video starting 10 February."
