Jallikattu: One dead and dozens injured as TN hosts its traditional event!

Jallikattu, one of the traditional events in Tamil Nadu, would attract thousands of spectators and it certainly holds the evidence of being the biggest event in most parts of the state during Pongal festivals and the event has been successfully rolled out in the states for this year under the observation of retired High court justice. The event is been taking place since Wednesday with a lot of energy, festivity, and the deaths- which has become inevitable in the event as this season has recorded with a death of a 40-year-old man.

The reports say that a 40-year-old man has died near Anchetty in Krishnagiri district on Thursday after his bull has infringed him to death. The victim has been identified as Murugan and he had participated as a bull-tamer. This year's Jallikattu has reportedly resulted in more injuries as the Jallikattu event held at Avaniyapuram in Madurai has reported with 66 injuries including the spectators, bull tamers, and the bull owners. The event had seen nearly about 640 bulls which fiercely took the sand grounds in the middle of hundreds of tamers.

The Jallikattu event at Palamedu had hosted nearly 660 bulls on Thursday and about 26 people were left with minor injuries during the event. On the other hand, the tamers who tamed the bulls successfully and the owners of the bulls which freed from getting trapped were rained by the gifts and recognitions as the person who tamed the more bulls at the event was conferred with a car followed by the gold and silver coins, furniture, bicycles, and travel bags were awarded to the winners.

Despite Madurai being the epicenter of the traditional event, it had webbed the spectators from the nearby districts, states and even from beyond the borders as the tourists from France had visited the venue and spotted the traditional event of the state. On Friday, Alanganallur, in Madurai which is very popular for Jallikattu had camped the event in the presence of thousands of spectators including foreigners.
