Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, well-known for his admiration for Superstar Rajinikanth, has recently unveiled the inspiration behind his upcoming film, Jigarthanda Double X. In an intriguing revelation, Subbaraj disclosed that the movie draws inspiration from the life of the iconic actor Rajinikanth.

The film is to be released on Diwali 202, where the plot, set in 1975, revolves around the first black-skinned hero of Tamil cinema, a concept rooted in Rajinikanth's journey, especially considering his debut film 'Apoorva Raagangal' released in the same year.

In surprising turn, Karthik Subbaraj took to X to unveil an alternate poster of Jigarthanda Double X. In this striking poster, Superstar Rajinikanth's face replaces Raghava Lawrence's role, while Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's face adorns SJ Suryah's character.

Subbaraj penned, "I kept Dreaming to my AD team that if i was born decades earlier i would have made... #JigarthandaDoubleX with Thalaivar & UlagaNayagan...... My associate director @mahesbalu17 took that seriously.....  #DoubleXDiwali in Two days...."

In a recent interview, Karthik Subbaraj shared, "The element of 'Tamil Cinema Vin Muthal Karuppu hero' in Jigarthanda Double X is inspired by Superstar Rajinikanth. The choice of 1975 as the backdrop was influenced by Superstar's debut film, Apoorva Raagangal. This factor played a significant role in shaping the screenplay and holds a pivotal position in the story."

Starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles, Jigarthanda Double X is a much-anticipated project directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film promises a compelling narrative, coupled with the stellar music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The creative team includes cinematographer S Thirunavukkarasu, editor Shafique Mohamed Ali, production designer T Santanam, and stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbbarayan.
