Kamal Haasan's car was attacked during campaign: Here's what happened!

In a shocking development, Kamal Haasan's car was attacked by a young man when the actor turned politician was driving towards a hotel in Kancheepuram on Sunday after campaigning for the party's candidate in the district for the upcoming assembly polls. 

According to reports, Kamal Haasan was carrying out his campaign in Kancheepuram after announcing the candidates of his Makkal Needhi Maiam for the assembly polls. After completing the campaign, he was proceeding towards a hotel during which his car was attacked by a young man. The attack had damaged the car's windscreen and the actor had suffered no injuries and he was safely evacuated.

The incident had shocked the actor's supporters and members of the party following which they had surrounded the young man and attacked him for attacking the actor turned politician. The incident had stirred a furor in the spot and the policemen had come and taken the attacker under their custody. 

Local television channels had shown the visuals of a young man and the sudden disturbing scenes from the spot. The police had identified that the young man, who attacked Kamal's car, was drunk and he was later taken to the hospital to treat the injuries that he sustained when he was attacked by the MNM party workers. 

MNM leader and retired IPS Officer AG Mourya took to Twitter and said that Kamal's car windscreen was damaged and the man who attempted to attack the actor turned politician was handed over to the police. Mourya said that the party would not be scared by such elements. It must be noted that Makkal Needhi Maiam has formed a third front in the assembly polls. 

Kamal's party has inked a deal with Sarathkumar's Samathuva Makkal Katchi (SMK) and Parivendhar's Indhiya Jananayaka Katchi (IJK). Kamal Haasan's party will be contesting in 154 seats while SMK and IJK will be contesting in 40 seats each. Tamil Nadu will go to the single-phase poll on April 6 and the votes will be counted on May 2 during which the state will know who has won the elections.
