The Tamil film fraternity stands in jubilant applause as it commemorates the 64th milestone of Kamal Haasan's illustrious odyssey through the realms of cinema. This captivating journey first unfurled when he was nothing but a youthful prodigy, taking his initial steps as a child artist in 1959. A titan of versatility, Kamal Haasan's indelible imprint graces more than 230 films across a tapestry of languages, earning him the title of 'Ulaganayagan,' a testament to his universal influence in the film industry.

Venturing from the domain of a valiant freedom fighter in 'Indian' to the enigmatic realm of a spy in 'Vishwaroopam', Kamal Haasan's thespian prowess radiates through varied genres and roles, painting the town with vivid hues of his talent. An assemblage of accolades adorns his passage, from four National Film Awards, a resounding nineteen Filmfare Awards, and the crowning glories of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.

Kamal Haasan’s daughter and actress Shruti Haasan on this special day, took to Twitter to share her admiration and love for her father. She wrote, “Ups & Downs, Laurels & Challenges. He’s seen it all. But nothing can come between Ulaga Nayagan and his untiring effort to uplift the Industry. The Unparalleled Emperor for 6 decades is stepping into his 64th year in Cinema.” She also shared a collage of his pictures from different films, highlighting his transformation over the years.

Many other celebrities and fans also joined in to wish Kamal Haasan on this special occasion. Actor Vijay Sethupathi tweeted, “Celebrating 64 Years of @ikamalhaasan sir  #64YearsofKamalism”. Director Karthik Subburaj wrote, “64 years of Pure Passion & Inspiration @ikamalhaasan  sir   #64YearsOfKamalism"

Kamal Haasan is currently busy with several projects, including ‘Indian 2’, ‘KH233’, and ‘Project K’. He recently visited the Oscar Museum in Los Angeles with music composer AR Rahman, where they watched the Hollywood classic ‘The Godfather’ together.

Rahman revealed that he had advised Kamal Haasan to try his luck in Hollywood 20 years ago, but he got trapped in the Indian film industry. He also said that Kamal Haasan still has the opportunity to make an English film without being judgemental about it. Kamal Haasan is undoubtedly one of the most influential and respected figures in Indian cinema. His passion and dedication for his craft have made him a legend in his own right.
