From Kamal Hassan to Jr NTR... Celebrities mourn the heart aching Odisha train crash!

The tragic train accident occurred in Odisha’s Balasore district when the Coromandel Express collided with a goods train near Bahanaga station, came as a utter shock as the country still not yet moved from it. The accident resulted in over 280 deaths and 900 injuries. In response to this tragedy, several Kollywood actors took to Twitter to offer their condolences and support.

Kamal Hassan took to Twitter and penned a deepest heartfelt note, writing, "The train accident in Balasore, Odisha involving two passenger trains and a goods train, which resulted in the loss of over 280 lives and injured over a thousand, causes immense pain and shock,"

"This train accident, which has shaken the entire nation, has also affected a large number of people from Tamil Nadu. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured. This train accident, which has caused shockwaves around the world, is one of the greatest tragedies in Indian history. We will all stand by those affected”

"It hurts... what a terrible thing this is!! My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured", wrote Soori. Shreya Ghoshal took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "Heartbreaking news of the tragic train accident in Odisha. May God give strength to the bereaved families of the people who lost their lives in the tragic train accident. Praying for the injured to recover and heal."

Jr NTR, the RRR fame actor penned, "Heartfelt condolences to the families and their loved ones affected by the tragic train accident. My thoughts are with each and every person affected by this devastating incident. May strength and support surround them during this difficult time.

"Heartbreaking to see the tragic train accident in Odisha. My deepest condolences to the affected families. My prayers for injured people to recover soon", wrote Raghava Lawrence.  "Deeply saddened to hear about the devastating train accident in Balasore. My heartfelt condolences to all the families who have lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured", wrote Harish Kalyan.

A massive recovery operation was launched with hundreds of emergency workers searching the wreckage. It is considered to be India’s worst train crash this century.  The accident was a triple-train collision involving the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train. The collision took place near Bahanaga railway station in Balasore district . The cause of the derailment is not yet clear .

In response to this tragedy, blood donors queued up outside the hospital in Bhadrak to help victims of the accident . Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the site of the accident and took stock of relief and restoration operations . He stated that the government will leave no stone unturned for the treatment of those injured .
