The legendary actor Kamal Haasan, who has given us more than 230 films across industries, is all set to collaborate with the acclaimed director H Vinoth for his next project. The film, tentatively titled KH 233, is said to revolve around the issues faced by farmers and the importance of traditional rice conservation.

The duo recently met with the members of Nel Jayaraman Traditional Rice Conservation Center in Chennai to seek their input and suggestions for the script. The film is expected to go on floors in October this year and will be produced by Kamal Haasan’s own banner Raaj Kamal Films International. The film also features Vijay Sethupathi in a pivotal role.

The film is rumored to highlight the social cause of preserving the traditional varieties of rice that are native to Tamil Nadu. Nel Jayaraman, who passed away in 2018, was a renowned organic farmer and activist who dedicated his life to reviving and conserving more than 170 varieties of indigenous rice seeds.

His organization continues its legacy by educating and empowering farmers to adopt organic farming methods and protect the biodiversity of their crops. KH 233 will mark the first time Kamal Haasan and H Vinoth will work together. 

Kamal Haasan and H Vinoth are known for their socially responsible and impactful films that touch upon various issues and challenges faced by society. With KH 233, they are likely to bring awareness and attention to the plight of farmers and the need for sustainable agriculture, and showcase the rich culture and heritage of Tamil Nadu through its visuals and music.

Kamal Haasan, who is also a politician and the founder of the Makkal Needhi Maiam party, has always been vocal about his support for farmers’ rights and welfare. He has also been involved in various initiatives and campaigns to promote organic farming and environmental conservation.
