Director Lingusamy surprises everyone at the press conference for the film 'Beginning' by saying, "Kamal sir has assured me that he will act in a film for his production house." Beginning is being distributed by Thirupathi Brothers. In 2015, they worked together on a film titled Uthama Villain, which ultimately bombed at the box office.

'Beginning' starring Vinoth Kishan and Gouri G Kishan, which is directed by debutant Jagan Vijaya and produced by Vijaya Muthusamy and Jagan Vijaya. And interestingly the film is an Asia's first split screen movie as per reports. The film is presented by Thirupathi Brothers. Beginning has been received well at the ongoing Kolkata International Film Festival.

In the press meet,  "We wanted to do Papanasam’s remake in Tamil, but Kamal sir wanted to do Uttama Villain and we went ahead with it. Uttama Villan was made with skill and hard work. But it is true that the film faced a huge economic setback," He added, "Recently we had met Kamal sir, and he has assured me that he will act in a film for our production house to compensate for the loss of Uttama Villan."

Uttama Villain, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead, was written by the ace actor while Ramesh Aravind directed the drama. It centers on Superstar Manoranjan (Kamal Haasan), who has a brain tumor and is told that he only has a limited amount of time left to live. He asks his mentor, director Margadarisi (K. Balachander), to helm his upcoming project, a comedy in the style of folklore about a man who keeps evading death and his part in saving a kingdom. 

Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Hassan, K. Viswanath, K. Balachander, Jayaram, Nassar, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Urvashi played the prominent roles. Traders estimated that Uttama Villain lost about 120 million (US$1.5 million) in India, while it only lost 80 million (US$1.0 million) in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, Kamal Hassan is currently busy with Indian 2 with Shankar, and he have plenty of flicks in his pipeline such as KH233 with H.Vinoth, KH234 with Maniratnam and an untitled venture with Mahesh Narayanan.
