On Sunday, the GC is anticipated to make the announcement. Even after being promoted to the new position, Kanimozhi will keep her current position as state secretary of the DMK women's wing.

Party president, general secretary, treasurer, and four members of the party's audit panel are among the positions up for election as part of the DMK's 15th organisational polls, which were carried out at the end of September. Five nominees for deputy general secretaries will be formed by the elected party president. The following grouping of the five includes two members of the SC/ST community, two members of the general population, and one woman.
