Kantara's Rishab Shetty bags this prestigious award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival!

The film Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, has garnered nothing but adulation.  Big stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and prominent people like government ministers have gushed over the film. The film broke all previous records for Kannada films in terms of both lifetime and annual gross. Now the film's major goal has been met: it won the Most Promising Actor award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival.

For the year 2023 awards of the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, Rishab Shetty, the film's writer, director, and star, was given the honour for Most Promising Actor category. The Sandalwood actor was noted for his portrayal of Kambala Champion, whose story is a moving ode to the traditions of the Karnataka state.

The event's awards ceremony will be held on February 20 at the Taj Land End Hotel in Mumbai. Released in theatres on September 30, 2022, Kantara received rave reviews upon its debut. This film, produced by KGF fame Hombale Films, features Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty. Overall, the film was a commercial and critical success, earning more than Rs 400 crore around the world.

To honour the memory of Dadasaheb Phalke, The Father of Indian Cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) was founded in 2016. The Downtown Palm Springs International Film Festival (DPIFF) is a one-of-a-kind event created to celebrate the Entertainment Industry and cinema's spectacular creative talent.

Rishab Shetty is recently made official that a prequel to his 2022 film Kantara titled Kantara 2 will be out. The original story of Panchuruli Daiva in Kantara served as inspiration for the prequel. Kantara is about a close-knit group of people who live in the quiet village of Kaadubettu in South Karnataka.

Few days go, Yash, Rishab Shetty, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Vijay Kiragandur all met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Karnataka last week..
