After the upcoming release of 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai,' director Ram, who is known for emotional and sensible social dramas such as 'Katrathu Thamizh,' 'Thanga Meengal,' 'Tharamani,' and 'Peranbu,' to direct a new film. By casting a prominent Tamil actor who is best known for comedic roles, the filmmaker in an surprising turn raised expectations for the film.

The intense director's next 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai' which has Nivin Pauly, Soori and Anjali in the lead. Bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi under his banner V House Productions, the film had its shooing phases at Dhanushkodi near Rameswaram, Kerala and Chennai, and now the post-production work is underway. It's worth mentioning that director Ram played a lead in Savarakathi, where the film sets in black comedy genre.

Kollywood sources had the interesting report that Ram is going to direct a new movie very soon that will star the well-known tamil actor Mirchi Siva. Because of his unique style of satire in Tamil films, Mirchi Shiva has amassed a significant number of devout fans. More often than not, he succeeds in making people laugh with his straight faced expressions and quirky fashion of delivering dialogue. However the reports of his first venture with Ram has no deets on the role whether it will be a comic or serious one.

Kasethan Kadavulada, the film in which Shiva plays a role and which directed by R. Kannan, is yet to be released. Even though the actor is currently working on a number of different projects, there is widespread speculation that Shiva will work on a film with the director Ram. According to reports, filming for the same will get underway in first week of February. Having said that, there has been no official announcement made regarding the matter as of yet.

Given that both Ram and Shiva are known for different genre approaches in their track of records, filmbuffs holds the much anticipation for this official announcement. If the rumours about their project are true, this will be the first time Ram and Shiva will work together. In addition to Saloon, actor Shiva is now working on Single Shankarum Smartphone Simranum and Golmaal, along with the long delayed 'Sumo'.
