Kudos to Manirathnam Sir...Sivakarthikeyan is all praising showers after watching Ponniyin Selvan

In the line of adoration and plaudits for the most recent Manirathnam period epic Ponniyin Selvan, the young Kollywood star Sivakarthikeyan gushing of the veteran director's directorial in his post review on social media is getting viral. Kudos to #Manirathnam Sir, he says. The captivating drama with multiple stars has already raked in 250 crores at the box office.

The story was adapted from the novel , Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki. The movie features Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Leksmi among others in important roles. On Tuesday the actor took us to Twitter and penned, "#PonniyinSelvan1. Massive respect to The Great Kalki. Kudos to #ManiRatnam sir, all the technicians & actors for giving a scintillating experience. The scene where #Nandhini imagines herself on the throne was magical..spellbound in @arrahman sir’s music."

On September 30, the first part of Ponniyin Selvan was released, and viewers of all ages enthusiastically received the film. In the past, the movie made Rs 80 crore worldwide on its opening day, and it is currently approaching Rs 250 crore globally. According to a report by industry trackers, the movie earned $4.13 million in its first four days at the US box office, making it the best-performing Tamil movie ever.

The historical drama features an ensemble cast that includes Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobitha Dhulipala, Jayaram, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Jayachitra, Rahman, Kishore, Riyaz Khan, Arjun Chidambaram, Mohan Raman and Nasser.

With cinematography by Ravi Varman, music for the film was created by music legend AR Rahman. The second part is scheduled for release in 2023 and is backed by Mani Ratnam's own production company Madras Talkies and Allirajah Subaskaran's label Lyca Productions.
