The Tamil film industry and the fans of comedy legend Vadivelu are in a state of shock and grief as they received the news of his younger brother Jagatheeswaran’s demise on August 27th. Jagatheeswaran, who was 55 years old, succumbed to liver failure after undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Madurai for the past few days.

Jaggu, or Jagatheeswaran as he is fondly known, graced the silver screen in the iconic movie 'Kadhal Azhivathillai' alongside Simbu, playing the role of the hero's trusted friend. But his talent didn't stop there - Jaggu left an indelible mark in several other films.

However, he could not make a mark in the industry like his elder brother Vadivelu, who is widely regarded as one of the best comedians of Tamil cinema. Jagatheeswaran later moved back to Madurai and started a small textile shop to support his family.

Many fans of Vadivelu took to social media to express their condolences and pay tribute to Jagatheeswaran. They remembered him as a ‘hidden gem’ who had the potential to become a great actor like his brother. They also shared some clips and photos of Jagatheeswaran from his films and wished him peace in the afterlife.

Vadivelu was last seen in Mari Selvaraj's Mamannan, where he played a strong and sincere father to Udhayanidhi Stalin, who played the lead. He is also to be seen next on P Vasu's Chandramukhi 2, with Vijay Sethupathi, and reportedly another film with Mari Selvaraj.
