Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya will slay COVID-19 in India! BJP's yet another controversy

While the nation has been faltering upon the rampant spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and wheeling through the hope of finding a vaccine to treat and cure the deadliest epidemic, the leaders of the Central ruling BJP party have been finding time to promote their ideology in a larger space that had inturn drawn flak and controversy across the nation.

As the medical teams across the nation have been engaged in the crucial role of finding a vaccine to treat the viral infection, BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Assembly Protem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma had claimed that the coronavirus pandemic would begin to end after the commencement of the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

While speaking about what he asserted as the cure for the global pandemic, Sharma said Lord Ram had reincarnated for the welfare of mankind and to kill demons at that time. The destruction of COVID-19 will begin as soon as the construction of Ram temple begins. He further stated that the entire world is suffering due to Coronavirus. 'We are not only maintaining social distancing but also remembering our holy figures'.

He added that the Supreme court has ordered to built Ram temple in Ayodhya. However, his speech of connecting Lord Ram temple and COVID-19 had surfaced a major controversy against the ruling party on rolling out such religious-based assertions when the nation is reeling for the survival. His statement has come at a high time when the construction is nearing to get started.

According to the reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stone of Ram temple on August 5. The treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has said that the ceremony will be held by adhering to the social distancing norms as not more than 200 people will be attending the ceremony.

The reports further stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat will be attending the ceremony next month as the ceremony would be expected to take place in a grandeur way amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Sharma's claim has come days after a BJP leader in Bihar had avowed that the cow urine would improve the immunity in fighting against the COVID-19 viral infection.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 12,38,635 positive cases so far as of Thursday morning of which 4,26,167 are active cases, 7,82,607 have been discharged, and 29,861 had succumbed to the virus. In the last 24 hours, India has reported 45,720 fresh cases and 1,129 COVID-19 deaths.
