'A lot of credit goes to them': Warner after the dramatic entry of SRH into the IPL playoffs!

This was a direct decider. The Sunrisers Hyderabad, that took on the mighty Mumbai Indians in the last game of the league stage, wanted to win this match at any cost to enter the playoffs of the IPL 2020. As the first positive sign, they won the toss and decided to field first. The good news for the Mumbai Indians was that Rohit Sharma was back in their squad as he was fit. But he got out for just 4 runs and disappointed his fans who were eager to see him bat after some time.

After Quinton de Kock fell for 25, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan had a very good partnership scoring 36 and 33 each. When two wickets fell in quick succession when the Mumbai Indians were at 81, the match turned towards the Sunrisers.

Shahbaz Nadeem bowled really well picking up the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya. When the Sunrisers thought that they could restrict Mumbai to a total of around 130, the 'Pollard Storm' had hit them strongly. He was ruthless in his batting. With 4 sixes and 2 fours, he scored 41 runs from 25 deliveries and helped his team reach a total of 149 runs.

The Sunrisers were determined to chase this score and there was no turning back for them. David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha were positive and steady from the first ball as they took on every bowler with ease. The absence of Bumrah was showing up in the Mumbai bowling and they struggled to pick a wicket till the end.

The MI bowlers couldn't contain the opening pair of SRH as they smashed every ball with the tenacity of entering the playoffs. Warner and Saha ensured that they won't fall prey to MI bowlers and stood throughout the chase. As the sequel of splendid batting and partnership, SRH closed the league with a terrific win in the end by 10 wickets.

They have successfully reached the playoffs with this victory and have put an end to KKR's chances. So, it is going to be Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals in the first qualifier and Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator. We are going to witness some fantastic cricket with the best teams of this season facing each other.

As the league has completed its spell, the berths for the playoffs have been filled with the potent teams who would be penning the climax of the current season. In what has become a perfect prospect, Kohli's fleet of Royal Challengers will strongly be hoping to lift the title for the first time while MI are preparing to win the trophy for the second consecutive time. SRH and DC had shown best performances in the current season that they can't easily be written off.

After the dramatic entry into the playoffs, SRH skipper David Warner said, "RCB are a very good side. They have a lot of dangerous players. We beat them in the 2016 final. Hopefully, we can carry the same momentum from this MI game and win", citing that SRH will do the same for RCB in the current season's eliminator like how it defeated the latter in 2016 final.

He stated, "It feels good now, after that dreadful loss against KXIP. They (MI) rested a few players but to hold them to 150 on this ground was great. A lot of credit goes to the bowlers. Nadeem was superb. We were trying to be as clinical with the bat then, and it feels good". "If we can take this performance and momentum into the next game we'll be really happy. I pride myself on getting my team to a great start. That's my duty. Fortunately, the last few games have been great and we have been able to go in a positive manner", Warner added.
